Waking up this morning to darkness and a cold chill in the air got me very excited for Autumn/ Winter, for hot chocolate and for big fluffy jumpers! But nothing excites me more for autumn and winter than all of the amazing fashion.
This year I feel like I’ve picked up a few bits over the past couple of months that I would consider ‘wardrobe staples’ for this Autumn and Winter. I’d say all these items are incredibly versatile and can be worn a multiple of ways, not just how I’ve styled them.
DETAILS: JUMPER (H&M) | COAT (PRIMARK) | SHOES (PRIMARK) | JEANS (H&M) | NECKLACE (TOPSHOP)
The baker boy hat.
If you’ve been following me on Instagram for a while now you’ll know I’ve been a fan of a good hat for a while. Baker boy hats came back into fashion last year and everyone from Beyonce to my mum were wearing them, with so many types of styles and colours to choose from there is a baker boy hat out there for everyone. Whatever your budget every high street shop sells some kind of baker boy hat, from Primark to Prada.
Straight leg jeans.
I’ve always been a skinny jeans kind of girl it’s either skinny jeans or nothing, I’m not a leggings person and I probably never will be. But in the last 3 months, I have discovered straight leg, high waisted jeans. Where oh where have they been hiding? I have fallen head over heels in love for their comfort as well as their style, are you more casual or feeling fancy? I wear jeans to almost every event.
The chunky knit.
In my opinion, the best piece of clothing ever created, if the weather would allow it I would probably live in big cosy jumpers all year round. I am a nesh person, if you’re not from Yorkshire you probably won’t have a clue what I’m talking about. If you’re a nesh person it basically means you get cold very easily/ often and I am always cold. Because of this oversized, big cosy jumpers are my absolute godsend keeping me warm and happy throughout this slightly chilly winter.
The Teddy-bear coat.
With the weather being confusing, to say the least, it’s important to always be prepared for cold weather here in the UK. With one day it being 20 degrees and hot and the next day it being 5 degrees and super cold. Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ll have probably seen these teddy coats all over Instagram on every fashion blogger/ influencer alive. I have recently added a beautiful brown longline teddy to my large coat collection.
Statement black boots.
Want to take any outfit from a 7 to a 10? Just add a pair of black high heeled boots and you’re good to go! I recently got these gems from Depop brand new for an absolute steal. With regards to my choice of footwear, I’m a heels, trainers or boots kind of girl and that’s it, I don’t like ballet flats or other ‘smart’ shoes. I’m going to take a guess that 60% of my shoe collection is either high heels, heeled over the knee boots or my personal favourite heeld boots.
With the start of a new season brings lots and lots of new clothes, with trends being thrown and me left right and centre all these new clothes is quite overwhelming. I usually like to stick to quite simple pieces, no bold over the top patterns, just uncomplicated pieces that will last me over the years.
